Karl's Urban Myths Exposed (Part 1)
Whilst listening back to an old Ricky Gervais XFM show this morning (XFM 2002 Early Years Vol. 20 to be precise), it struck me that it might be a good idea to try to compile a list of all the urban myths that Karl has come out with on the show (with Karl obviously believing them to be fact!)
Now it's apparent that Karl spends a lot of his time on the internet (probably looking at monkeys and pictures of hairy chinese kids), but I always wonder why Karl doesn't just bookmark www.Snopes.com. If you don't know about this site, it's basically a site that exposes urban myths and tells you whether they are true or not.
Anyway, in the show I was just listening to, Karl talks about Neil Armstrong giving a cryptic message after the famous 'One giant leap' speech on the Moon, by saying "good luck Mr Croucher". (Karl doesn't even manage to get this right as in the urban myth Armstrong is supposed to have said 'good luck Mr Gorsky"). You can read the full story over at Snopes.com where they prove it to be false.
Feel free to email us if you spot any other urban myths on Snopes.com that Karl believes
